Heard a snippet of Truckers Are The Blood on this video last March. I thought it sounded amazing and I wasn’t too familiar with the genre, so I had to check it out. Googled the lyrics I got from the video to find it and listened to it on repeat for about two hours straight before finally checking out People That Can Eat People and Can’t Maintain. Instant fan.
I checked out their other work over that summer and loved pretty much everything. Then Knife Man came out and I fell in love all over again, although I think Can’t Maintain is still my favorite album of theirs’.
I can’t think of any specific way I connected with their music, but I definitely have.
My dad was friends with Sean and Ben before they formed the band, so I’ve known of them since I was like 8. Last year, a friend of mine posted a video of theirs and I recognized them and actually started to listen. Then I downloaded a bunch of their songs and loved them. I made my own AJJ shirt shortly after and wore it to their next show. Like 4 days later I bought Can’t Maintain (from Hot Topic, mind you) and fell in love with it. Since then, it has just been them ascending to be my 2nd favorite band.
My dad records ajjs albums, I’ve known em forever! I even played trombone on truckers are the blood!!
